Family-owned on the McKenzie

A feed and tackle store run the old-fashioned way — by a family that lives here, knows the animals, and fishes the river right out the door.

Our story

We're family-owned and operated, and we learned this trade the way most good things get learned around here — in the community, one season at a time. Feeding stock through a hard winter. Getting a new flock of chicks through their first weeks. Figuring out which fly the redsides actually wanted on a given June morning.

Over the years that knowledge turned into a store: a place on the McKenzie Highway where a rancher, a backyard chicken keeper, a first-time puppy owner, and an angler headed for the boat launch can all get exactly what they need — and honest advice to go with it.

We're still a small, hands-on shop. You'll talk to someone who knows the difference between the feeds on the shelf and can tell you why. That's the whole point.

What we stand for

We do this ourselves

Our family and our team raise dogs and cats, keep chickens, run horses, and fish this river. The advice you get over the counter comes from people who actually live it.

Never-recalled, no exceptions

We won't put a bag on the shelf we wouldn't feed our own animals. That's why you'll find brands with clean safety records and traceable ingredients — and why we'll happily tell you what we'd skip.

Stocked for our water

Our fly bins and tackle wall are built for the McKenzie, not a national planogram. Local patterns, local knowledge, and bait kept fresh for the morning bite.

Neighbors first

Ranchers run charge accounts, guides stock up on the way to the launch, and first-time chicken owners get walked through it. Everyone leaves with what they actually need.

More than a counter

We love helping people get it right the first time. Thinking about starting a backyard flock? Ask us about chick-care basics and what to have ready before they come home. Switching your dog's food or fighting an itchy coat? We'll walk you through the options — no upsell, just what works.

Nutrition questions, flock health, the right feed for a hard keeper — bring it in. Helping the next person figure it out is the best part of the job.

Come say hi

Stop in, ask anything, and meet the folks who'll be helping you for years to come. We're right on the McKenzie Highway, minutes from the boat launches.
